How to Play Plinko: Rules, Settings and Auto Mode
Here's how to play Plinko in one sentence: set your stake, your rows and your risk, drop the ball and you win the multiplier of the slot that the ball lands in. It's one of the easiest casino games to learn as the only thing you do during a round is press Play. The steps and controls are all explained below.
Plinko Rules in 5 Steps
- Choose your stake (between LKR 100 and LKR 30,000).
- Choose the number of rows. More rows = more paylines and a wider spread of multipliers.
- Choose your risk level: low, medium or high. The higher the risk the bigger the edge multipliers and the smaller the centre multipliers.
- Press Play to drop a ball. It bounces left or right at each peg until it eventually lands in a slot.
- Win your stake x the multiplier of that slot.
Here's an example of the Plinko rules in action. A stake of LKR 100 landing on 2x returns LKR 200. The same stake landing on 0.5x returns LKR 50.
The Controls on the Screen
- Stake field: either type in how much you'd like to stake on each drop or simply pick how much you want to put on each drop (within the game's minimum and maximum).
- Rows selector: determines how many rows of pegs the board has (which in turn determines the number of slots).
- Risk selector: switches between low, medium and high risk which in turn alters the way the multipliers are arranged.
- Play button: drops one ball and starts the round. That's the only thing you do during a drop.
- Auto tab and history: the Auto tab will drop the balls for you in a sequence and the history will show your recent drops.
The history only shows prior drops so it can't tell you what the next ball is going to do.
Using Auto Mode Safely
Plinko auto mode drops many balls in a row without a pause, and it can spend a balance much faster than you expect. A few settings keep you in control.
- Set the number of drops before you start, and choose a small number first.
- Set a stop-on-loss amount if the game offers one, so the series ends by itself.
- Keep the stake small, because every ball in the series uses it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change rows between drops?
Yes, you can change the rows, and the risk level too, between drops. Each drop is a new, independent round. Changing the settings changes how the multipliers are spread across the board, but it does not change the RTP or steer the next ball.
Does dropping several balls at once change the odds?
No, dropping several balls at once does not change the odds. Each ball follows the same left-or-right randomness and has the same chances as a single ball. It only means more stakes are in play at the same time, so a balance can move faster.
What is the minimum stake in Plinko?
The minimum stake is LKR 100. It can differ between versions and operators, so check the stake field and the info panel of the game you open. Start with the smallest stakes while you learn the settings, and stay within your budget.
